So the Lord has been completely wrecking my life in every way possible since Friday 6/30/2017.
I told the Lord that I wanted to experience the Lord in every way that He wants me to experience Him! I have no idea why when I have told some people this, they immediately say be careful for what you ask for! Maybe it’s because the of the story of Job in the Bible and all of the afflictions he experienced but he also experienced God’s deliverence and reward. But I do know that God has not given me a “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 1 Tim 1:7. So the enemy might creep in and try to give me fear about telling God that I want to experience him in every way that He wants me to experience Him! I believe that this is God’s will! So I’ll simply say Amen!
Recently, I started to get anxiety and I believe I was led by the Lord to study the Bible by seeing who in the Bible can relate to my experiences and how they dealt with it so I brought to the testimony of “Saul where David played the lyre / harp for him when an evil spirit from God came upon him and the enemy came and tormented him and then Saul was refreshed and the evil spirit left him.” 1 Sam 16:23. I began to listen to Be still by Steffany Frizzel and my nerves was calm. Now I also listen to classical music as well! It is soothing!
Then that led me to believe that music has to have a wonderful use in the Kingdom of God, (seek first the Kingdom of God and its righteousness and the rest will be added to you.) Matt 16:33.
So I googled praise and I came up on this blog 7 reasons why singing matters and it really blessed my life. This blog provided some scriptures why praise / singing is important. Remember the Walls of Jericho? How did the walls come down?! By being obedient to God commands / instructions saying “circle the city of Jericho one time for 6 days and in the 7th day circle the city 7 times, on the seventh time the walls came tumbling down and when the 7 priest sound the trumpets and on the people shall shout!” Joshua 6:1-27. Music gets you ready for war and can be very tools you use for war!
My best friend was telling me how the Devil was basically the music director in Heaven before he was kicked out of heaven and that’s why the music industry is the way it is. She told me music enters our beings without permission! Look at the music you hear when you go into stores, or the music you listen to in your car, or the music you listen to at home. My BF told me that that’s why we can wake up with that same song in our mind! How great is this if we use music in the way God intended for music to be used. How terribly district I’ve if we use music in the way Satan is using because he only comes to steal from us, kill us, and destroy us. But “Jesus has come that we may have Life and life more abundantly” John 10:10.
I’m on a mission to enjoy the Lord in every way he has intended on me to enjoy Him and I believe one of the highest ways to enjoy Him is praise and worship and this is from my on personally experiences, “Let everything that has breath praise God” Psalm 150:6. This is a command not a suggestion. There is spiritual significances to praising! My Auntie told me recently that the enemy can get in when we pray but when we praise, depression leaves, anxiety leaves, the Devil flees, we become encouraged and empowered in praise. God likes praise! I think that’s the reason he commands it and it is something we actually spontaneously will do when see who He is! “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!” “I tell you,” he replied, “If they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.” Luke 19: 38-40. Its something about God’s creation that feels compelled to praise. I believe God wants us to choose to praise Him! Deuteronomy 30:19-20 “For I have set before you Life and death and blessings and curse; therefore choose life that you and your seed may live!” I believe we can choose life even in the music we listen to.
