You are a target! By Sherry Thorpe

So the Devil is hater! We know this right? We know that the Devil and his demons number 1 mission is to take us OUT! No matter the cost! He will lose his own demons to ensure he takes us out. You are his favorite target.

He will do whatever it takes to make sure you don’t reach Christ. And if you meet Christ, he will do what it takes to make sure you don’t spend time with God to get to know Him and His character. And if you do spend time with God, he’ll make sure you spend minimum to no time in the Bible, so you will never learn and become équipt to defeat The evil spirits. I’ve experienced the distractions so I know the Devil just doesn’t give up.

Satan has a plan for you. That plan is to try to kill you. If he can’t kill you then he will try to destroy you. If he doesn’t destroy you then he will try to steal everything God has for you. I heard a person recently say regarding racism in America that they feel like they have a target on their back and they were absolutely right. Satan wants to take you out. Jesus said this with His own lips in John 10:10 it says, “The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy you but I come, that you may have Life and life more abundantly.” It is so easy to think that our fight is against people in this World that do us wrong, the government and its officials or the people that are against God but the Bible is sure to let us know that THAT is definitely not the case, “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12.

The evil spirits we are fighting are équipt to lead us into temptation, to steal from us, to distract us, to keep us in sin, to keep us addicted to sinful things, to pervert us, to keep us from God, to keep us blind to the truth, to deceive us, to deafen us to God’s voice, to kill us, to enslave us, to overwork us and most importantly to defeat us. And they will do all of this and MUCH MORE. If we don’t equip ourselves with the Word of God and position ourselves in Christ, they will win. We choose. We get to choose our destiny. The Bible tells us that “God has set before you life and death, blessing and curse, therefore choose life that you and your seed may live. In loving Jehovah our God, by listening to His voice and holding fast to Him for He is our life and the length of our days.” Deuteronomy 30: 19-20.

Death and life are presented before us each day, blessing and curses are laid before us each day and WE choose daily which portion we will have for our life. Choosing Christ was not a One time decision. NO, we must choose Him every day-all day and choose Him above everything else. If we don’t choose Jesus who in the Bible is called the way, reality/truth, and life (John 14:6) then we are defaulted to choosing death and curses. There is no in between with God.

Now please don’t get discouraged choosing Christ as your life is easy when you are enjoying Him as your daily bread. When we are In Christ/In the Spirit we spontaneously choose the right path, the way, life, and blessings. So we shouldn’t have anxiety over this, NO we should just enjoy Jesus as our life and we will spontaneously be transformed, renewed, refreshed, and empowered to defeat the Devil and his demons. This is awesome sauce! In Christ WE WIN. Remember when Jesus said, “It is finished” on the cross? John 19:30. He defeated the Devil. All we have to do is position ourselves In Christ and we will overcome this World just Like Jesus has overcame the World. John 16:33.

Prayer (aka contacting God) helps in knowing which way to take. Fellowship with believers is important to our taking the right way. Loving Jesus is the way. Spending time with Him, getting to know Him through His word, listening to Him speak to you, and gathering and growing with believers is the way. These things keep us in the Light. These things keep us on the right path. So today will you choose whom you will serve?!
