We are being sent to dangerous environments! Are you prepared?!

Look, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. So be as shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves.“ Matt 10:16

Wolves are natorious for preying on sheep. Wolves will hunt and eat a sheep. This gruesome message from Jesus isn’t something to take lightly. I am sending you to very dangerous situations. I am sending you to a situation where the people would like to devour you. Be as clever (shrewd) as snakes and harmless as dove. Be strategic. Be aware. Be sober of people and your surroundings.

Oh I am so thankful for the Bible. Every word provided in it is so  critical for our understanding and walking by faith.  The warnings and messages will serve as important treassures to live by, to be gaurded in, and to meditate on. It’s beautiful because the Lord not only thought of everything so we might have success as faithful children but God also provided the very tools so that we would have the ability to walk it out. The very best resource we have is the Holy Spirit that perfectly teaches us all things, warns us about all things, convicts us, leads us, and comforts us. The Holy Spirit is such an amazing resource.

The things that lurk for us in the darkness can be exposed. The advice is clear be as shrewd as a snake.

Be sharp, be smart, be wise and be clever. Be a sharp player on defense. Don’t lie and wait to be devoured. We have been given the resources to pass the test and to endure to the end. We can do this! How am I so confident?! Because my hope and Faith is in His Word. His precious words that haven’t been found to be a lie even today. We can do ALL things through Christ. It’s time to put on our Holy warrior equipment and endure.

We must be wise and be as harmless as doves remembering that though these evil spirits are operating through man at times we must remember who the enemy is. Every Human on this Earth has an opportunity to receive Jesus as their Lord and savior and the moment they do makes them our sibling. We must be harmless because this war isn’t against flesh and blood but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12

Are you prepared to fight? Are you aware you are in a war? Are you acknowledging that Jesus is sending us as sheep amongst wolves? Don’t be shocked when an attack comes (because it will come), be ready! We have no need to worry or fear any enemy because the Lion (Jesus) not only walks with us but lives in us.

Have you ever felt like you were taking 2 steps foward only to end up 5 steps backwards?

406C96B8-0321-4CF0-8370-67875773368F

Have you ever felt like you were moving ahead only to be knocked back to the starting line? Some people say that they feel like they are taking 2 steps forward to take 5 steps backwards. Well I’ve had this mindset too many times to count.

One day I had a very long talk with the Lord and I believe God directed me to the story of Joseph in Genesis 37 to 47. Joseph was a son of Jacob aka Israel. Joseph had 11 brothers and he was also his Father’s favorite. One day Joseph had a dream about him being a ruler; he shared that dream with his family. Joseph brothers already despised him due to their father’s favoritism toward Joseph and that dream caused them to dislike him even more; so they plotted to kill him. SIDE NOTE: The Bible has so much drama and action I just love it. Okay back to the regular schedule. The brothers plotted against Joseph, it turned from ‘let us kill him to let us sell him into slavery.’ They decided to go with the latter so Joseph was a salve in Egypt. Joseph rose to a position as managing Potiphar’s (his master) house. One day Potiphar’s wife tries to take Joseph’s goodies and Joseph wasn’t having it and he fled. Potiphar’s wife lied and said Joseph tried to take her therefore Joseph was thrown into jail. Sounds like 2 steps foward and 5 steps backwards right?

Joseph had a turn of position in jail as well as he rose to leadership once again. Ultimately He was released from jail and became 2nd in command to Pharoah ( basically He was acting as Pharaoh) ruling the land! Talk about dreams coming true, right?

Many times we are given a vision or dream from God and I think we believe it’s supposed to promptly happen with no suffering, hardships, or set backs. If we look at successful people even in our day and age, they had sufferings, set backs for days/weeks/months/years. One would think our setbacks aren’t part of our plan but what if it was all part of God’s plan? What if even our mistakes and struggles are taken into consideration before we are given the dream or the vision? God may give the promise but usually he leaves out the little details.

3B2C3855-EAD6-40C8-B87A-A8507934439E

Every person on this Earth will endure some sort of hardship. The poor and the rich, famous and the unknown, children and adults, believers and unbelievers. Since we are believers we must remember that God will absolutely use all things to work for our good (Romans 8:28). I believe Joseph’s journey prepared him and built good character within him for his role as leader of Egypt. If we take time to look over our life we can see where our life experiences have prepared us for where we are. Don’t get too comfortable though, we are still on the journey of a lifetime and things will change; we will rise to new levels and we may have setbacks along the way before we arrive at our dream. We can all rejoice no matter the situation because we know that God is well aware of every situation we have, are in and will encounter. Our mission is to trust the King. Trust that God has the entire World in his hands and that nothing will come against us that God himself isn’t prepared to handle or to have us handle. We are his children and God takes care of his own… perfectly!

So yes it may appear that we are taking 2 steps foward only to take 5 steps backwards but in reality it’s a preparation for the next level of life. Every experience is needed for the very fine details of our life. We as believers are in the unique position to not be in the dark about hardships and set backs. We know that it’s all part of God’s plan. So lift your head up Child of God, if you feel as if you’re in the 5 steps back season be encouraged you will not be there forever, it’s only an intricate season that’s needed for growth. All things work together for our good and that is #GodsPlan because He orders our steps💜

Here I grow again

Nothing dirty bout my thirty. #Classy360 #360Months

526DAA47-3C96-4901-84C4-5B8A679BC9A9

I gracefully walked into my 30’s today #Jan28.

I purposely made my birthday activities to include Classy, relaxing and fun things. I went to the Symphony De la cirque with the Dallas symphony (pics in my gallery), Spa Castle, and Church then brunch at Grand Lux in Dallas, Texas.

I wanted to enter into my 30’s with a clean slate and nothing dirty about it. I wanted to walk in the finished product of the growth from my 20’s today NOT tomorrow. I had plenty of dirty in my 20’s and I refused to bring that in my 30’s. I am so very thankful for all the life lessons that my 20’s taught me. I was like a sponge in my 20’s and I believe it’s bc I had no idea what I was doing so I was trying to learn. 21 is when I rededicated my life to the Lord so I spent most of my 20’s following Jesus; The rest of the time I spent following others or doing my own thing (whether it was the right path or not).

I felt the molding of God’s hands in my life in my 20’s as I stumbled into adulting. I believe there’s adulting and then there’s adulting God’s way. My pastor Tim Ross of Embassy City Church shared with us ‘Our parent set us up to leave the house and become independent but God always wants us to be dépendant on Him.’ How amazing is that? God is a forever walk with us God. I don’t believe I would be the woman I am today if it wasn’t for God being intentional about walking with me.

6C874B80-FC77-4F4F-8577-6D867EBD8943

God stripped me, invested in me and molded me and I blossomed into someone I didn’t think I could become. I became a woman of faith. Of course my journey isn’t over but the plans I had for my life are definitely not being lived out today through me bc My God intervened, redirected and ordered my steps. Allowing God to wrought himself into me has been great pain and pleasure but I am beyond convinced it was/is worth it. I completely did a 360 because who I am today isn’t anywhere near the girl I was.

Side note: My birthday theme was called Classy 360 to remind myself I’m a classic and 360 is 30 Years Times 12 months. Also to symbolize the 360 full circle transition into my 30’s.

I am in a different place all together where I have no clue to what’s ahead. I am literally walking by faith. I am not sure what the Lord has planned ahead but I do know it is to cause Christ to grow in me. I am extremely excited to continue this journey of walking with the King of kings. So no I don’t have the house, the spouse, kids, degree, career or car I planned for but I have God who knows the beginning and the end, who makes crooked paths straight, the Promise keeper and the perfect leader leading my life. I know I am right where God intended for me to be right smack dab in the middle of Irving, TX, USA, member of Embassy City Church, Pharmaceutical Patient care coordinator, riding public transportation,  and living with 10 to 12 maybe 13 room mates at any given time. So I may not be where I planned but I’m where I’m needed to grow. My life is being written by the perfect Author and I’m loving the chapters thus far.  I’m ready for my 30’s adventures and I am so excited that God has given me G R E A T friends to enjoy this journey with. I know one thing I’ll be doing and that is enjoying life with God and them. 🥂 To turning 30.

Have you ever found yourself running away hopelessly?

IMG_3826

I tried to run from the calling of God on my life, and destroy the anointing while traveling to foreign countries. Satan was happy to help me out. And God allowed it because He knew He would get the Glory!

I found myself fed up with the way my physical life was going (my spiritual life and growth was great). My physical life was giving me a headache. I was fired from 4 jobs in the past 2 years and those last 4 jobs, co workers lied on me causing me to completely shut down and crawl into my shell. My light was totally dimmed. I couldn’t handle another attack in Corporate America. I couldn’t handle one more lie, deceit, or backstabbing. I couldn’t handle giving my all to a job and finding out that I’m unappreciated and hearing those words, “We’ve decided to let you go” one more time. I couldn’t handle adopting a negative attitude because the environment I was in would NOT let me be great. I thought to myself “Okay ‘Miss Can’t get right’ let’s go travel the World”. And I did just that. I rented out my apartment for 1 month and traveled to Mexico and Belize and got in the “belly of the whale” aka UA’s airplane. I found myself indulging in the ways of my old life. I tried just about everything in the song “Cranes in the Sky” by Solange. I found myself partaking in death by enjoying the things of this World more than enjoying My King who died to set a free from the very thing I was binding myself to.

The very thing that had me once in chains and at the alter singing at the top of my lungs, “break every chain” by Jesus Culture, I willingly chained myself to it… again. There is where I experienced Grace and Mercy at its fullness. I had an extra dose of it in that season.

As I arrived in “the belly of the whale” I found myself walking straight back into my calling. I found myself trying to fight it away and run it away but it kept finding me. As I spontaneously began to pour out Christ from my speaking and being, I knew that I would never get away. And I believe I began to embrace Christ even in that dark season I was in. I continued to love Him and spend time with Him. I found His Love to be MORE potent in that season- of course His Love is always the same but I found myself in plenty of undeserving situations where I KNEW I didn’t deserve His Love, mercy, grace or His presence. Jesus didn’t withhold anything from me in this season. In this season where I tried to “Cranes in the Sky” it away, away, away By Solange Knowles.

IMG_3824

Consciencely I didn’t know all of this was going on until I looked back at how I lived through this season. Unconsciencely I tried to run a way from the calling of God! Consciensely I went away. Consciencely I thought it was the hurt from being fired 4 times, and the pain America’s hurting people I wanted to run from. It was so much pain and still is so much pain in this World and I “just knew” My answer was in traveling and escaping the US of A! Boy, was I ever so wrong!

I found my answer in Jesus upon my return. On 6/23/17 I took my relationship with Jesus to a new level as I chose to ask the Lord to make me a living overcomer. The most liberating decision I made was to surrender completely to Jesus. Clearly the day I decided to follow Jesus on May 6, 2009 I picked up some old habits again and I needed to “run to the Cross, run to the Cross” by rapper KB Fokus (voice of the youth). I found myself purposely running to the cross each day and my life began to overflow with peace and the abundant life. I am still running to the cross daily and resting in the arms of my Savior while enjoying/experiencing decreasing and allowing Him to increase within me.

I found purpose in my efforts of trying to run away. I found purpose in the spiritual attacks I received in Corporate America. I found out that no matter the situation or circumstances God would get the glory and what the enemy meant for harm God would truly turn it around for my good (Gen 50:20).  I found out that I am truly called by God and there is no where I can hide from Him. I found out that even when I run I’ll find out that my answer always runs with me. My answer’s name is Jesus and His promises are true! I found out that no matter how much I try to ________ it away, I’ll always be able to find my answers in Jesus!

I’m so very thankful for that season because literally I feel like I’m walking on water now. Sure I have ups and downs like all people but I’ve definitely made a purposeful decision to keep Jesus in the boat with me as I travel through these human life experiences. So instead of _______ing it away, I Christ it away lol and it seems to be working. I come to Christ and lay my burdens at His feet like He has always said I (We) could do! Matt 11:28.

Well I hoped you enjoyed my transparent testimony as I totally exposed my entire life in this post.

You worship differently! “let that boy worship” written and rapped by Adrion Butler

IMG_3421

I can not remember where I was when I first saw “Let that boy Worship” performed by Adrion Butler in DFW, Texas but when I heard the words and saw his passion being expressed through the song, I was extremely encouraged. The song really ignited more freedom within me. So this is random but still on topic I love to dance for the Lord but I just do not know how to dance other than twerking; And personally I’m not going to twerk in the presence of the Lord. So I jump around moving my arms in a wild and free way and this is how I dance in His presence. However I have been told by a Pastor (she was telling a group of us) to not move our hips when we praise. I remember reading about how David danced his clothes off and I wondered what that Pastor would have told David. Praising God freely is something I believe we should do in His presence while worshipping Him in truth and in Spirit. Praising Him freely is a freedom I began to express after seeing others express themselves freely in God’s presence.

The song impressed me because I’ve heard so many believers talk badly about rappers who are Christians without trying to understand the heart of the one’s who are expressing themselves through the music titled “Christian Rap Music”.

When I first rededicated my life to Christ in 2009, a lady told me to get rid of the music I listened to and I did. I purchased music that expressed praise to Jesus by singing. And then I heard about the rapper Lacrae and the 116 clique and man was I happy. I grew up in the “r and b/rap” age/culture so to hear a rapper rap about God, I was hyped aka krunk aka lit. I was inspired and hopeful. I was impressed that the Lord would even use someone like Lacrae to rap for Him. Like how could rap be used to  glorify God? How was this even possible? It wasn’t the norm however I am familiar with the scripture “Behold I make all things new” (Rev 21:5) and personally I never want traditional concepts to make me box in the God of this universe. The trees praise Him (1 Chronicles 16:33). All of His creation can praise Him. Why should we limit worshipping and praising God in the ways that “we are used to”? The trees don’t praise the way I do but it’s still praise to our Heavely Father! All of creation has been called to praise God and I’m sure your praise looks different than mine but praise is praise!

IMG_3442

I had composed some questions and Adrion was open to answering them. Please find my questions and his answers below. I hope Adrion’s answers encourages you and helps you understand “Christian rap”. I have been encouraged through His responses as well as to appreciate how others and all of creations praises God!

1. Were you a rapper before you met Christ? No

2. When did you get saved? I grew up in church so I’ve been saved longer than I can remember lol. I can remember as a child going to the altar for salvation at least 4 times lol.

3. When did you begin to follow the Lord? I rededicated my life in 2008 while I was in college.

3. When did you encounter someone trying to hinder the way that you praise? I grew up in church and it seemed to be a reoccurring theme- “The generation before us doesn’t like how we praise.”

4. When and why did you decide to rap for God’s Kingdom? It was all I was good at. I felt left out of church and worship because I couldn’t play an instrument or sing, but God gave me freedom through examples like David, and King Solomon, who used their words in a poetic/ rhythmic way to express their worship.

5. What made you write the song “Let that boy worship”? Please see questions 1,2,3, Lol jk But seriously, I saw a generation without identity in Christ and a portion of it was due to the lack of support and acceptance. Most young people I encounter have already began to develop unique gifts and abilities that set them apart from the crowd. But unfortunately those gifts don’t traditionally fit into a worship service so they aren’t considered “worship.” This song gives the listener freedom to use their life as worship. So no matter what the gift is as long as its used to glorify God….it’s worship. Worship must be in Spirit and in Truth, and that is not limited to worshipping God with the organ and Background Vocals.

6. If you could tell a new believer in the Lord anything what would it be? “Trust the Process” At times it may seem like following Jesus is pointless and not what you expected…. “Trust the Process.”

7. What keeps you seeking Christ’s face in these evil distracting days? You answered it. “these evil distracting days”

8. What is your purpose with the music you send out? My music’s purpose is to glorify God and encourage others to find a way to do the same.
9. What would you like to say to our generation? Find Purpose…..

10. What would you like to say to the sinner who feels like he/ she can’t come to God? I would say, “ok, great, you’re human too.” Truth is there are many times I’ve felt this way. I was born in sin and shaped in iniquity. Adam and Eve walked and conversed with God on a closer level than most humans could even imagine and when they were caught in sin they hid. David was caught in sin and tried to cover it up. Jonah was disobedient. Judas knew he was going to sell the messiah of for some silver. I guess what im getting at is even the holiest of holy saints feel this way lol. At the end of the day, God already knows you’ve fallen….he wants to help you get back up. Learn from the examples in the bible of people who hid their sin and then read Luke 8:17. Then read Luke 1:50 and it will explain that he has mercy that is endless and flows in wave after wave. He can’t fix it if you won’t give it to him. The oil light in your car won’t go off until you take it into the mechanic. ijs

My view of who God is so limited. I want to know God the way Christ knew God!

IMG_3435

I have been seeing that some believers and unbelievers through conversation with them that they have boxed in their view of God. Meaning the way they view God is how they have heard of Him or experienced Him. But this is such a limited view. I personally don’t remember of being healed of any disease but God is still the healer. I’ve been telling myself I truly want to believe in the God of this universe.

When the Bible says He is my provider I want to believe beyond any doubt. He is our King, Lord, Father, Creator, and so much more. He is I AM. And I haven’t even heard of everything that He is, let alone truly have I believe! He is the All in all. I truly want to believe this. I don’t want to just say it with my mouth, I want to believe. Well I’ve been sharing this with close friends and I came across this scripture today: Matt 11:6 “And blessed is He who is not stumbled because of Me”

Wow Jesus did a lot of things contrary to people’s belief of Him. He turned over tables in a temple (thats a little wild) but some wouldn’t dare call Jesus’ actions wild. He healed a man on the sabbath and the Pharisees were stumbled because of this. But we have to truly know Christ bc what if He does something contrary to our boxed view of Him. I’ve been telling people I want to take my limitations of God off of Him. He is not limited by my view, my circumstances, my resources, or me period.

Jesus said “blessed is he who is not stumbled because of Me” capital M in Me which means not stumbled by Christ. May we all take our boxed view off of Christ and truly see Him for who He reveals to us He is. This has been my experience lately seeing Him for who He reveals himself to me and it is so BEAUTIFUL. My experience and view has been heighten and enlightened.

There’s this singer Steffany Gritzell who was singing spontaneously and she had begun to sing:

There’s a line and I’ve crossed it,

some will say that I lost it,
But who cares what the World thinks,
I’ve found my joy”

I’ve definitely crossed “the norm” line and I’ve found such a fantastic, wonderful, fulfilling joy in Christ and I WILL NEVER be the same AGAIN. I want that Paul faith, that Peter Faith and Abraham Faith. I want to truly believe regardless of how unpractical it may seem. I just want Christ! YES the Lord is practical but some things according to my view is unpractical in my eyes. But He is God and He isn’t limited by my view of Him. He will still be God and be the One fills all in all regardless if I believe, regardless if I limit my view of Him; However I have made a choice to not limit my view of Him anymore. God is the I AM. I want to experience the I AM. Lord reveal to us who you are?!

If you have never made the decision to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and want to, feel free to ask your local pastor or believer. Or you can PM me on social media. Or you can pray right now. Dear Church! Let’s have True Oneness- This is God’s desire!

IMG_3416

Dear Church,

What would happened if we had true Oneness and met with each other in Truth and in Spirit. We are in One Body, having One faith, One baptism, One Father, One calling, One Hope, One God. Surely we at least have this in common. Let’s meet on this ground! Let’s fellowship according to this.

Let’s grow in our faith together, separately locally, but together in One body. With man this is impossible but with God ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. I believe we can have a Oneness that puts the enemy to shame.

I DONT CARE what local Church you meet with, WE HAVE THE same Father, same Spirit, so let’s enjoy Christ together as life putting our differences aside and love the Lord and others together! You may have arrived at a different level of knowledge of Christ, so keep that to you until the Lord says I’m ready for it. But what do we commonly know about Christ together- Let’s fellowship on that ground! No more divisions. No more arguments.

Let’s just pray for one another. We can do this my brothers and sisters! WE MUST DO THIS my Brothers and Sister- this is God’s desire that we WOULD BE ONE as God the Father and Jesus the Son is One we too must be one. We can do this Church! Let’s do this.

Lord keep us One in YOU! Only In You can we be truly ONE! #TheChurch aka #BodyOfChrist aka #BelieversOfChrist #WeAreOneInSpirit #LetsGrowInOneFaith ❤️
