Recently I heard a message from Priscilla Shirer a Pastor here from Dallas, TX, USA. And she nailed this message about knowing God’s voice. She thoroughly educated us about sheep and their Shepherd and how the the good shepherds would study and spend a lot of time getting to know their 100 sheep!!! They would KNOW them and could tell them apart from other sheep, how awesome is that?! Several shepherds would place their sheep in the same “holding station/ pen station” while they would possibly go in to town to rest. A gatekeeper would stay and literally be the gate and lay down blocking the entrance and exit while waiting for the shepherds to return for their sheep. Upon the shepherd’s return he would call out for his sheep, AND JUST THEIR SHEEP would come, because they knew their shepherd’s voice! It becomes even more amazing, a shepherd could alter their voice and call just one sheep out of the one hundred and that one particular sheep would come!

This amazed me because had I not been educated on sheep, I’m not sure I could relate as much as I am relating and enjoying the scripture, “I am the Good Shepherd I know my own and my own know Me.” John 10:14. With the World’s situation and as many voices that are being spoken from so many different platforms it’s good to know our Shepherd’s voice. Actually let me back up, I had  a guy once tell me that “He would believe in God if God would speak to him but God isn’t speaking!” The truth is – God is speaking and either we are listening, or we aren’t listening or we are hearing His voice and taking credit for what He is saying”.

So agreed, God is speaking! We need to be those who spend time with our Shepherd getting to know Him, listening to His voice and actually obeying it and following only Him. The God of this universe is speaking to you and wants you to actually listen. God speaks to deaf people. They may not can hear a physical sound from the Earth or our mouths but God speaks directly to our hearts, His voice comes from within and from without. The Bible says in Matt 24:4,5,11

There’s a guy in Miami right now claiming to be the Messiah and he has many followers! You can’t be deceived if you know Our Shepherd’s voice!

When a world has decided that they have no need of God, We The Church will take a stand and say ALL WE NEED IS GOD! We will get to know our Shepherd’s ways, thoughts, and His voice. We will not be deceived because we know His voice. And guess what the Shepherd knows us too. We are not a stranger to Him. He knows us and we know Him. Hallelujah we know our Shepherd’s voice and He leads us gracefully! He speaks, we hear, He leads, we follow, He is the Shepherd, we are the sheep, He knows us and we know Him. What a God we have?!
