#Loyalty – a strong feeling of support or allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to…?

Wow Kendrick Lamar’s loyalty song itches the mind and raises the question “Who are YOU loyal to? It compels you to think and answer the question, who are you loyal to?

If I can’t be authentic then I can’t be me. The only one I try to practice loyalty to is Christ. My friends, my family I try to be in Christ so Christ can do what he needs to do in their lives. I try to practice being good to people but loyal I don’t think that is something I can do for them. And I’m not saying that just because I can’t be loyal to humans that I practice being disloyal. It’s just that, that’s a huge burden to be loyal to all my friends and family members but kind and nice and doing my best is something I can offer to humans. But Loyalty is not something I can offer.

 

But God…

He is COMPLETELY loyal to making EACH person become who they need to be in Christ. His focus never changes. We are always on his mind. The Lord is consistently loyal to loving us.

The problem I see is that we are more loyal to things/ people; And Jesus sometimes gets last place in our life even though we claim that He gets first place.

Come to church– nah I’m too tired. #LoyalToSleep

Read the bible– Nah this new series is on tv and I must catch up on all 30 episodes #LoyalToTechnology

Spend time with God– Nah gotta smoke this blunt that’s how I rest #LoyalToPleasure

Sing to God– Nah I’m in traffic, headed to work. I don’t have time for that #LoyalToThisWorld

This is a no judgement zone here because if there is anyway to weigh a sinner I would definitely be close to the biggest. However I (and God) want(s) us all to see ourselves for what we are and see God for who He is.

Paul’s warning: “Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.” -Romans 12:13

When you was at the bottom, He was there. When you were at the top, He was there. In your mother’s womb He was there. When you fail, He is there. In jail, He was there. At work, He is there. No one is more loyal to YOU than Him.

Loyalty, loyalty, loyalty!

“I will never leave you nor forsake you“- God Hebrews 13:5 #ThisIsTruth
I said, tell me who you loyal to
Is it anybody that you would lie for?
Anybody you would slide for?
Anybody you would die for?

While we were jacked up we were constantly on God’s mind, He was loyal to us even when we were jacked up.  #MyHero

If you find yourself being loyal to anyone/anything other than God and you want to change that, you can just tell God. “Lord, I want to be loyal to you, Can you help me? Help me put you first?! Please forgive me for putting you last and not first Lord?!”
