Morning Devo- Do you think it’s ok to call a person a dog?

Do y’all think it’s ok to refer to a person as a dog?

No? Yes? Depends?

Well what if you’re God, like then would it be ok?

Check out where Jesus referred to a woman as a dog in the Bible:

Matthew 15:22-28

Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.

Canaanite woman: “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession.”

Jesus did not answer a word.

So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”

24 Jesus answered: “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”

25 Canaanite Woman: “Lord, help me!”

26 Jesus replied: “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to their dogs.”

27 “Yes, Lord,” she said, “but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.”

28 Then Jesus answered: “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

Now PLEASE don’t think I’m trying to disrespect Jesus, because I love Him, but that was rude. Lol He referred to that woman as a dog. Now which one of y’all can do that and have the person still ask again for what she needs?

I admire her persistency and ability to humble herself and lower herself to the level of a dog, agree with Jesus, and not take offense. #BeHumble

And the Lord blessed her by answering her request to get her daughter healed and commended her on her faith! #ThisIsOurLord #FirstThingsFirst

I also appreciated how the Lord was so available to this “dog”. Like the woman just called out to Him. Not only was He available to the “dog” but He answered her request.

Well the great thing about being a Christian today is that we have that same access to Jesus today. Actually we have a better access because  He lives inside of His believers.

If you are not a believer and want to become one the Bible says that “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” Romans 10:13 The beginning to salvation is to accept the Lord and one way to do that is to call/say Lord Jesus. If you have any questions ask some local believers or drop a comment.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog. I hope you enjoyed it and seized the opportunity to talk to Jesus.

What did you get from the Bible passage?
