Thereβs something magical about waking up in Marrakech, grabbing your camera, and heading off for a spontaneous adventure. As a solo traveler, I never know who Iβll meet or where the day will take meβthis day, it took me to Moroccoβs tallest waterfall!

On the Road πβ¨
We set off in the morning, leaving the buzz of Marrakech behind for olive groves, red cliffs, and endless blue skies. On the bus, I met a few fellow travelersβinstantly friendly, instantly funβand just like that, I had my adventure crew for the day. Book your trip here.

First Glimpse of Ouzoud π
After about three hours, there it was: Ouzoud Falls in all its glory, dropping 110 meters (360 feet) into the gorge below. The sight literally made me stop in my tracks.
For a little perspectiveβVictoria Falls in Africa is about the same height at 108 meters (354 feet), but way wider (over 1,700 meters / 5,500 feet!). Ouzoud may be smaller in scale, but itβs packed with charmβmulti-tiered cascades framed by lush greenery and red sandstone cliffs.

Monkeys in their habitat! ππ
We followed our guide down winding trails, and before I could even snap my first photoβboom!βBarbary macaque monkeys. And if you know me, you know Iβm obsessed. They were climbing, swinging, and giving us all those cheeky βthis is my homeβ looks. I swear one posed for my camera.

Boat Ride Bliss π€π¦
One of my favorite moments? Hopping on a little wooden boat that took us right to the base of the falls. The roar of the water, the mist on my faceβit felt like natureβs version of a spa day (minus the calm music, plus a whole lot of adrenaline).

Lunch with a View π½οΈπΏ
We wrapped up our hike with a traditional Moroccan lunchβsteaming tagine and fresh breadβat a terrace restaurant overlooking the falls. Eating with that view? Pure magic.

Why Ouzoud Stole My Heart π
By the time we drove back to Marrakech, I was sun-kissed, slightly damp from waterfall spray, and grinning ear-to-ear. This trip had it allβnature, wildlife, delicious food, and that perfect mix of solo time and shared laughs with new friends.
If youβre in Marrakech and want a day trip thatβs all beauty and good vibes, Ouzoud Falls is the one. Just donβt be surprised if you leave with peanut butter-scented hands and some monkey photos on your camera roll

Now that youβve got the Ouzoud Waterfall on lock, you have to check out my unforgettable Nile River dinner cruise in Egypt. I danced with a belly dancer and ate Egyptian dessert with a full buffet while floating on the Nile River. No big deal tho. π
