Back in 2019, I had one of those “I can’t believe this is work” moments when my job at Spirit Airlines sent me to Jamaica for a business trip—yes, business. Imagine clocking in with views of turquoise waters, sipping coconut water between meetings, and ending the workday with island breeze and reggae music playing in the distance.

Jamaica wasn’t just a stamp on my passport—it was a full vibe. And the best part? I had a little free time to explore between meetings. Here are some things I did (or wish I had time to do) that I highly recommend if you’re ever on the island—even if you’re technically on the clock 😉.

Things to do
Montego Bay Catamaran Cruise with & Open Bar
Sail the coast, snorkel crystal-clear waters, then dance and sip cocktails onboard with a live DJ. Sun, sea, and vibes in one experience.
Luminous Lagoon Night Cruise
Just a short drive from Montego Bay—glow in the dark water, for real. Dip your hand or jump in and watch the water sparkle around you. Surreal!
Hip Strip (Gloucester Avenue) Food & Culture Tour
The Hip Strip is where it’s at—local jerk chicken, live music, souvenir shops, and beach bars. Book a guided tour or explore at your own pace.
Doctor’s Cave Beach Day Pass
This is one of Montego Bay’s most famous beaches—calm, turquoise waters, white sand, and clean facilities. Great for swimming, sunbathing, and snapping content.
Appleton Estate Rum Tour & Tasting
Head out to the countryside and discover how one of Jamaica’s finest rums is made—complete with tastings and beautiful scenery. Cheers! 🥃
Rastasafari Experience (Cultural ATV Tour)
This unique tour combines ATV riding with visits to local communities led by Rasta guides. See rural life, waterfalls, and learn about Jamaican culture firsthand.

Now that you’ve got the Jamaica on lock, you have to check out my unforgettable Nile River dinner cruise in Egypt. I danced with a belly dancer and ate Egyptian dessert with a full buffet while floating on the Nile River. No big deal tho. 😎
