If you’ve ever dreamed of standing in front of the Great Pyramids of Giza — this is your sign to make it happen. 👀 Check out my quick video snapshot here.
These bad boys aren’t in the middle of the desert like they show in the movies. They’re in Giza, a city just 45 minutes from Cairo International Airport, the capital of Egypt.

🛏 Where I Stayed (You’re Gonna Wanna Bookmark This Budget friendly option)
I stayed at a spot called Pyramids Hotel — found it right on Airbnb. It was cute, clean, budget-friendly, and walking distance to the pyramids. Y’all… WALKING distance.
Here’s the link so you don’t have to go searching:

Bonus: Airport pick-up was only $20 and my driver was waiting right outside. No confusion. No sketchy situations.
Don’t stress if your hotel doesn’t offer airport transfer. Here’s a super reliable option I trust:
💸 Giza Pyramid Entry Fees (March 2025)
• Pyramids Site Entry – $14
Want to go inside the actual pyramids?
Here’s the breakdown:
• Khufu: $30 / 1500 EGP
• Menkaure: $5.60 / 280 EGP
• Khafre: $5.60 / 280 EGP
• Mers Ankh Tomb: $4 / 200 EGP
Bring EGP (Egyptian pounds) with you to avoid any payment issues. You can pay with credit/debit cards – I did no issues but I had cash just in case!
🎤 Do You Need a Tour Guide?
Nope! If you just want to see the pyramids and snap some iconic pics, you can absolutely walk around and read the info posted outside.
BUT — if you want someone to break down the history and maybe even take epic pics for you, grab an Egyptologist guide.
Here’s one I recommend that includes hotel pick-up & entry tickets to the Pyramid area – Total $36 as of 2025:

📜 Pyramids Deets & Pics
Remember the names of the Pyramids so you can decide which Pyramid you’d like to enter on your visit or hey – enter all three.
I only purchased the King Menkaure because I was informed that I can purchase the other entry to the pyramids inside. I wanted to visit at least one to see if it was worth it. In my opinion it wasn’t but at least I can say I was inside of one of the pyramids in Egypt. But again the smaller Pyramid is only $5🤷🏾♀️ and the larger one is $30 for entry not too bad to take a peak into ancient history.
Pyramid of Menkaure

I entered the Pyramid of Menkaure ($5), the smallest of the three Great Pyramids at Giza — standing at just 213 feet tall. Built over 4,000 years ago during Egypt’s 4th Dynasty, this ancient structure may be smaller, but it holds major historical weight. #GoogleFact

Great Pyramid of Giza
I stood in front of & somewhat climbed the Great Pyramid of Giza ($30), the largest and oldest of the three — originally towering at 481 feet tall 🤯! It was built over 4,500 years ago by Pharaoh Khufu during Egypt’s Fourth Dynasty, around 2580–2560 BC. This ancient wonder held the title of tallest man-made structure for over 3,800 years — wild, right? #GoogleFact. This is actually one of the only Pyramids you can legally climb. You won’t be able to climb higher than the entry into the pyramid (legally).

Pyramid of Khafre
The Pyramid of Khafre stands tall at 471 feet and is the middle pyramid at Giza, built for Pharaoh Khafre (aka Chephren) during Egypt’s 4th Dynasty. Even though it’s not the biggest, it looks taller than the Great Pyramid because it was built on higher ground (sneaky!). It’s over 4,500 years old and still has a bit of its original smooth limestone casing shining at the top — plus, it’s the one paired with the iconic Great Sphinx. #GoogleFact

Sphinx
I visited the Great Sphinx of Giza, one of the most iconic (and mysterious) monuments in Egypt — carved over 4,500 years ago during the reign of Pharaoh Khafre. Standing guard near the pyramids, this massive limestone statue has had many names over time, from “Horus in the Horizon” to “Father of Terror” — but nobody really knows what the ancient Egyptians originally called it! And no, Napoleon didn’t shoot off its nose — drawings from before he arrived already showed it missing. 😅

💡Pro Tips
• Go early morning before the heat hits
• Wear sneakers or comfy sandals — the sand & flat surface is real
• Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
• Bring small bills for tips or souvenirs

Now that you’ve got the pyramids on lock, you have to check out my unforgettable Nile River dinner cruise. I danced with a belly dancer and ate Egyptian dessert with a full buffet while floating on the Nile River. No big deal tho. 😎
