How to deal with anxiousness

img_31731.png

Greetings my fellow readers,

The Lord has done a lot in my life since last Friday 6/23/2017. And I have been seeking first the Kingdom of God and I am in this why did he say this phase and what should I do when I experience this.  In the sense if it is commanded in the bible I want to know why and when to use the tools He has provided in His kingdom.

I had this spirit of anxiousness come upon me and I didn’t know how to get rid of it. I thought that I needed to fellowship and sometimes if the Lord is leading us to that then that is what needs to be done. However this time the Lord was not leading me to fellowship. Hmmm Where is the peace then Lord? I would pray and I would be fine and then the anxiousness would come back. I began to listen to this song:

Be Still By Steffany Frizzell Gretzinger and Bethel Music- This song has scriptures being song- Be still my heart and know that YOU are God alone stop thinking so much and just let go.

img_3174.png

Oh this song helped usher me into a peaceful place in Christ. Singing it calmed my nerves, this was truly a beautiful experience. We need to know how to use the Word in a way that helps us defeat the enemy and also why the Lord commanded us to do what we do. After using google to search scriptures regarding anxiety. The Lord reminded me how David would sing and then the Lord reminded me about the story with him and Saul, so I began to search the scriptures and found “Whenever the spirit from God came on Saul, David would take up his lyre and play. Then relief would come to Saul; he would feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him” 1 Samuel 16:23. What is this?

I am learning there is a why behind everything the Lord does and I want to be a living overcomer here on Earth overcoming this World and my flesh. Thankfully the Lord is giving me wisdom to seek Him. Because I am so weak and His strength is made perfect in my weakness. The lord also showed me how I tried to make the Church my God and this is evil. For he alone is God. Sure the believers have God in them and that’s why fellowship is essential to our Christian life. But we must follow the Lord’s leading in everything we do ( I am definitely still learning). God is THE perfect Shepard.

Maybe you aren’t making the Church your God.  Maybe it’s money, your job, your spouse, your kid(s), your car. Whatever it is I strongly encourage you to dethrone it and place God in the throne in your heart and in your life. Trust God to provide. Trust God plans for your life, your family’s life.

If you want to learn more on why singing matters click here. That blog post is from a blog site called unlocking the bible and I found it quite refreshing to see why singing matters from a biblical view. This blog included 7 reasons Why singing matters. And the reason were backed up by scripture, pretty cool huh?

May God be your peace. “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7

God said he is “I AM” He is everything we need He is all and all. He alone is God.

Disclaimer: Please do not take this blog and think that I am saying if you take pills for anxiety to stop. I am simply writing about my experience and how the Lord led me to these truths. I would strongly encourage you to talk to the Lord and pray about what you put in your bodies.

If you have never made the decision to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and want to, feel free to ask your local pastor or believer. Or you can PM me on social media. Or you can pray right now. Lord Jesus I believe you came into the World to die for my sins.

No weapon formed against YOU shall prosper

IMG_3155

Once I heard a Pastor tell us that the bible says, ” No weapon formed against YOU shall prosper. That doesn’t mean that the weapon won’t be formed/ created against what this scripture means is that it will not prosper. The weapon that is formed against you will not succeed against YOU. The weapon will not PROSPER for those that are in Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 54:17

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord.”

Lord I pray right now that the people of God be released in the name of Jesus and that they rise up and be the overcomers because you are the overcoming One in them. Lord let them be open to YOU to be the Overcoming One in them and live through them causing them to spontaneously overcome.

No weapon formed against Christ prospered. Not even death could hold Christ. Christ is indestructible. This Christ now lives in His believers HENCE the reason the enemy is trying to kill His dear believers and he is actually killing their body but he can not touch their soul. “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matt 10:28

May YOU surrender all and withhold nothing from God. May you be grounded in the Lord. May your entire being be found in Him. “Oh, my dear children! I feel as if I’m going through labor pains for you again, and they will continue until Christ is fully developed in your lives.” Galatians 4:19

The Lord has overcame this world and has proven to us that know weapon formed against Him prospered against Him. The World intends to kill Jesus and He keeps multiplying through His believers. Lol They are trying their best to take Him out but He is indestructible. They will never win. He has proven this even by placing His holy spirit in us. The very life that Christ has is now our life. Jesus says in John 10:10, “The enemy has come to steal, kill and destroy you, but I have come that you may have life and life more abundantly.” Jesus is Life. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
My question for you is WHAT is being formed against YOU? What is the enemy trying to do to you. Now remind the enemy and yourself that NO weapon formed against you shall prosper in Jesus name.  The Overcoming One who is indestructible lives in you. Thank the Lord that we have the Indestructible life in us. May God’s grace and peace meet you right where you are.

If you have never made the decision to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and want to, feel free to ask your local pastor or believer. Or you can PM me on social media. Or you can pray right now. Lord Jesus I believe you came into the World to die for my sins.

Would you choose to be a living overcomer? By Sherry Thorpe

IMG_3132Oh the power in just this question. Someone in the Church life recently asked me at bible study, “If I asked the Lord to make me a living overcomer wouldn’t He make me a living overcomer!”

When he asked me the question, I couldn’t even answer the question. Because I knew that the Lord would make me a living overcomer.

Why did this question bring so much fear to me? Have you ever heard someone say, “Be careful what you ask for because you might just get.” I knew that if I said yes Lord make me an overcomer he would make me one. I knew that He would be faithful in doing this. Later while driving home, completely wrecked in a beautiful way the Lord exposed my unhealthy love for this World. My fear of losing it. This World has failed everyone that has touched it. And this World personally showed me it’s fallen and it has nothing for me.

The Lord said we must love Him more:

IMG_3131

The Lord through dear Believers and God’s word showed me how this World is death and God is calling me out of this World into His marvelous light. All I needed to do is say yes! Once the Lord showed Me my love for the World and how my love for it leads me and has led me straight to destruction, that alone made it so easy for me to say, “Lord make me an overcomer!”

Once I did that the Lord began to show me how being an overcomer is something He intended for us all to be in His Son.  Not only was this God’s intention but it’s his desire. Let me show you where it says this in His Word.

These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 The Lord has overcome the World so it only makes since that we should overcome the World sense we are believers and have His life within us.

“‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.‘” Rev 2:17

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world–our faith. Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” 1 John 5:4-5

Let us be glad and rejoice, and let us give honor to him. For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb, and his bride has prepared herself.” Rev 19:7 The bride here is the overcomers/ Also the reality of the 5 bridesmaids who were prepared in Matt 25:1-13

Choosing to be a living overcomer today is different than just being a Believer of Jesus today in this age. The overcomer in this age aka age turner goes against the World in this age while choosing to be a living overcomer in this age. The believer who chooses to befriend the World will be perfected later in the next age. So eventually ALL believers will be overcomers! The living overcomer in this age made a decision to allow the Lord to make them an living overcomer of the World in every aspect of their life before the Lord returns. The living overcomer chose/chooses Jesus over the World in this age. The overcomer surrender(s)(ed) their life to the Lord Jesus and he helped them become an overcomer in this age, this can not be done in ourselves! To be an living overcomer in this age the Lord truly becomes our everything in this age. Eventually all believers will be overcomers after the next age!

The Church life plays such an important part in us becoming overcomers because their going on in the Lord serves as an empowerment and encouragement to keep us going on in the Lord. And we are One with them as the Bible tells us He who is joined to the Lord is one spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:17 May we practice the Oneness because this serves as a perfecting factor in our personal life. Being that the Lord wants to Build His Church the Oneness is crucial to being an overcomer as well! The perfecting process starts now! I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one–as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. John 17:21

Daily we can enjoy the Lord as our life. In enjoying the Lord as our Life, He becomes our life. In becoming our life we are being transformed. In being transformed in Christ we are constantly building God’s church because we are In Christ. In being transformed through Him we overcome this World daily and eventually totally. The moment we notice that we aren’t in Christ we should repent to restore the uninterrupted fellowship and flow with God and enjoyment of Life so we can continue growing in Christ and being built into Christ’s beautiful body aka the Church! One thing we should openly admit is we are not always in Christ. He is always in us but we are not always in Him. “… And may they be in us” John 17:21.  In knowing this it helps us to be aware to the fact we may not always be in Him and to check ourselves. This is something I’m learning myself but if you are ever in doubt just say Lord Jesus. “We can only say Jesus is Lord in the Holy Spirit” 1 Corinthians 12:3. Actually calling His name should be part of our daily activities. Calling His name turns our hearts and being to the Lord. This should be our daily practice being in Him. Being in Him we spontaneously overcome. Lol Enjoying the riches of Christ by being In Christ causes us to overcome this World. Letting Him be our ruler, by guiding us as we are respecting and loving Him as Lord. What a beautiful design! This is to overcome daily to be In Christ at all times! This is to be a living overcomer.

So would you choose to be a living overcomer?

“Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” 1 John 5:5

You are a target! By Sherry Thorpe

IMG_3087

So the Devil is hater! We know this right? We know that the Devil and his demons number 1 mission is to take us OUT! No matter the cost! He will lose his own demons to ensure he takes us out. You are his favorite target.

He will do whatever it takes to make sure you don’t reach Christ. And if you meet Christ, he will do what it takes to make sure you don’t spend time with God to get to know Him and His character. And if you do spend time with God, he’ll make sure you spend minimum to no time in the Bible, so you will never learn and become équipt to defeat The evil spirits. I’ve experienced the distractions so I know the Devil just doesn’t give up.

Satan has a plan for you. That plan is to try to kill you. If he can’t kill you then he will try to destroy you. If he doesn’t destroy you then he will try to steal everything God has for you. I heard a person recently say regarding racism in America that they feel like they have a target on their back and they were absolutely right. Satan wants to take you out. Jesus said this with His own lips in John 10:10 it says, “The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy you but I come, that you may have Life and life more abundantly.” It is so easy to think that our fight is against people in this World that do us wrong, the government and its officials or the people that are against God but the Bible is sure to let us know that THAT is definitely not the case, “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12.

The evil spirits we are fighting are équipt to lead us into temptation, to steal from us, to distract us, to keep us in sin, to keep us addicted to sinful things, to pervert us, to keep us from God, to keep us blind to the truth, to deceive us, to deafen us to God’s voice, to kill us, to enslave us, to overwork us and most importantly to defeat us. And they will do all of this and MUCH MORE. If we don’t equip ourselves with the Word of God and position ourselves in Christ, they will win. We choose. We get to choose our destiny. The Bible tells us that “God has set before you life and death, blessing and curse, therefore choose life that you and your seed may live. In loving Jehovah our God, by listening to His voice and holding fast to Him for He is our life and the length of our days.” Deuteronomy 30: 19-20.

Death and life are presented before us each day, blessing and curses are laid before us each day and WE choose daily which portion we will have for our life. Choosing Christ was not a One time decision. NO, we must choose Him every day-all day and choose Him above everything else. If we don’t choose Jesus who in the Bible is called the way, reality/truth, and life (John 14:6) then we are defaulted to choosing death and curses. There is no in between with God.

Now please don’t get discouraged choosing Christ as your life is easy when you are enjoying Him as your daily bread. When we are In Christ/In the Spirit we spontaneously choose the right path, the way, life, and blessings. So we shouldn’t have anxiety over this, NO we should just enjoy Jesus as our life and we will spontaneously be transformed, renewed, refreshed, and empowered to defeat the Devil and his demons. This is awesome sauce! In Christ WE WIN. Remember when Jesus said, “It is finished” on the cross? John 19:30. He defeated the Devil. All we have to do is position ourselves In Christ and we will overcome this World just Like Jesus has overcame the World. John 16:33.

Prayer (aka contacting God) helps in knowing which way to take. Fellowship with believers is important to our taking the right way. Loving Jesus is the way. Spending time with Him, getting to know Him through His word, listening to Him speak to you, and gathering and growing with believers is the way. These things keep us in the Light. These things keep us on the right path. So today will you choose whom you will serve?!

If you have never made the decision to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and want to, feel free to ask your local pastor or believer. Or you can PM me on social media.

Dear Church, May We be perfectly in Spirit. – Sherry Thorpe

Dear Church,

I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.” 1 Corinthians 1:10 The only way to be perfectly united is to be In Christ/InTheSpirit. The Bible tells us, that “He who is joined to the Lord is one spirit.” 1 Corinthians 1:17.IMG_3044So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:26-28

Oh silly racism that is dividing the World, may it not enter the Church. May we keep the Oneness in Christ. May the Lord continue to renew our minds and build us up in one another. Last night a few of us had the opportunity to address racism in the  USA. It’s becoming quite ridiculous and although racism is very much alive in the World may it not become alive in the Church. Culturely we may be different, race we may be different in the physical sense but those that are in Christ are One in spirit. May we never forget this. May we be united in the Church and shine bright as the Sun so the World may see our oneness and praise Our Father who has. Given us the ability to be one.

May we not fake the oneness, may we truly be one in Spirit. May we practice oneness. I’m so very thankful for a ministry that continues to practice oneness and realize that we are not One in ourselves but only in Christ. A ministry that realizes that we must practice being in spirit by turning our hearts and entire being to the Lord. We are divided in ourselves you all and we must be totally disqusted with this so we may turn to Lord immediately when we realize we are not in the Lord. Remember we are being perfected and have not arrived at perfection so if division arrives within you REPENT, seek forgiveness. This Oneness is beautiful and sacred.

I remember this one time we had a meeting with believers in Houston and one of the believers said to me that she was deeply impressed by all of the different nationalities and ethnicities. But I will tell you that I was impressed that I met a people that had were One in spirit. I met a people that agreed on the basics in the Bible (John 3:16). Sure one might say oh I don’t eat meat and another might say Oh I eat meat and this is fine even the Bible says this in Romans 14:23 that we must do what we do according to faith.  But let us not be divided when it comes to the basics of the Bible that God so loved the World, loving our neighbor as we love our self (Mark 12:31) Loving God above all else, seeking first the kingdom of God and It’s righteousness (Matt 6:33) THESE are not up for to debate in the church.

The World will never know oneness. Sure the World will fake oneness or even agree on certain things or have some common ground. Some corporations try to make it look as if they are one team with one goal and this may be so for a while but surely their thoughts aren’t the same. BUT in Christ we are truly ONE even down to our thoughts we are One. Christ and God there was no separation as there should be no separation in ourselves. “On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.” Oh may we continue to come into the realization we are truly One in Him.❤️

Church, we must get in formation. Paul wrote to Churches regarding division because He wasn’t blind to the World’s condition but very aware that we are not of the World anymore because we are new creatures born of the spirit. Through faith in Christ may we practice Oneness and be quick to repent when any thought of divisions arises. The Bible tells us that, “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

Lord Jesus continue to make us One! Continue to be the head Lord reminding us of your Word. May we not be shaken but stand firmly in One spirit as a testimony to this World that “He who is joined to the Lord is one spirit”. May we enjoy you daily as our portion being washed clean from all evil and being built together as One body, your beautiful Bride the Church❤️ Amen.

Morning Devo- Best part of waking up is Jesus in my cup. By Sherry Thorpe

img_2999.jpg

Is Jesus in your cup? No! Not your physical cup of coffee. But your cup cup-You?

The Bible suggest that we are containers aka vessels that God can pour Himself in. “Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit..” Ephesians 5:18. In order to fill us with the Spirit we must be a vessel. In order to be filled we must be an open vessel. In order to be filled we must go to the coffee house aka which is God himself.

The Lord Himself waits for you to come to Him. Early in the AM He is waiting (all day He is waiting) for us to come to Him. Even Jesus met God early in the AM. “In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there.” Mark 1:35. #WWJD This is What Jesus Would Do.

Too many times We limit ourselves to what Jesus would do by caring for the poor, serving in Church, and being a generous giver but I want to encourage you to be a begging receiver. I heard a pastor refer to being a Christian is telling “one begger where to get the bread.” Being that Jesus himself called himself the Living Bread! John 6:35. WOW! Living Bread? I guess up until eating Jesus, my bread has been dead aka lifeless bread lol. We have the opportunity to drink living water and eat living bread. No more morning blues when YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DRINK LIVING WATER. So be filled to the uttermost. “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” John 7:38. Drink up my dear Friend!

Be ye thirsty! Don’t be selfish or shy fill up at God’s coffee house and go out into all the World and let the living waters flow. Let these living waters flow out through YOUR blog, through the ministry that God has given you, may it be your job, home, local grocery store/gas station, children’s school, gym. Oh did you think you only needed to be filled for yourself? No we are filled because we need to be filled AND the living water flows from within us and out into others. Have you ever felt that feeling of being drained? Yes?! You wanna know why you feel drained it’s because this dying World is sucking all of God’s goodness out of you. But don’t worry, remember I told you to be a begging receiver lol it’s BECAUSE we always need to be filled. Guess what? God’s coffee house NEVER closes! You can be replenished aka you can be filled again right where you are. God is YOUR very own personal coffee house. He is forever with you and if you feel like you are running low on living Water remember that He lives in you and you can just turn to the Lord and ask Him Lord please fill me? Fill your cup Lord. The Lord is faithful to fill you. Just simply say, “Lord Jesus” and you can be filled.

So this morning as you are getting dressed, while you are in the shower, while you are eating breakfast, while you are drinking your cup of coffee DRINK your TRUE coffee aka Jesus Christ! Let the Lord be your very supply for the day, everyday. At Lunch time enjoy Jesus as your living bread and at dinner eat Jesus again. Jesus should be our very portion ALL DAY long since he is our very source.

How do I drink Sherry? I’m glad you asked. You can sing to him a song, read the Bible, say Lord Jesus etc… By touching Jesus in these ways and whatever else way you choose to touch Jesus- THESE are examples of drinking Jesus, this is eating Him as the Living bread, this is the way to get filled, this is being supplied by God! Drink up my friends and remain a thirsty beggar! #Unashamed😌 Jesus will truly be the best part of waking up! #JesusInMyCup

Are you in position? By Sherry Thorpe

IMG_2994

Have you heard the saying, “Dress for the position you want”? This saying refers to if you are going after a job, don’t dress for the position you believe you are qualified for or that entry level position; Dress for that position that you desire to have. I want to add be prepared for the position check out my view on the preparation aka process for the position we want.

For the longest time I felt left out of having a “dream”. I would dibble and dabble in this and that as a Christian and while still being in the Church life but I felt like the Lord Himself was not leading me in what I was intending to do for Him. I literally had the experience similar to the guys that was casting out demons in Jesus name but the Lord said, “départ from me I never knew you.” Matt 7:21-23. I felt like I was doing God’s work but He wasn’t leading me. Before we get super defensive and deep about “my feeling” I believe that we can jump too soon into where/what the Lord is calling us to do/be and complete the mission in ourselves rather than completing it in Him and that was my experience. The good thing is anything that benefits the Kingdom of God still builds the Kingdom no matter who does it. A non believer could talk about the Bible and a believer like myself could still be touched (I’ve had this experience). Anywho I wanted the Lord’s leading and support in whatever I do. The experience is just different and better in Him.

Hmmm who in the Bible could relate to doing things and not being led by God at first. MOSES!

Moses was raised with the best teaching. He wasn’t birth into the position to receive the best teaching and up bringing however he was divinely placed in the position to be raised by  Pharoh’s daughter. You can call Moses “education and upbringing” that he received in Pharoah’s kingdom “the best that money could buy.” However the Lord did not use the unprocessed, non transformed Moses to lead the Hebrews out of slavery did he? In fact Moses tried to jump to his calling by defending a Hebrew man by killing the oppressor. Hmmm but certainly this was not the Lord’s leading. So Moses ran. He ran away to hide but was placed into a position to be processed by God and transformed.

What I’ve noticed is that the Lord has stragically placed us in the families we are born in. The color of our skin and our gender, our gifts/talents, careers all purposely given by God. We ALL were “born for such a time as this” Esters 4:4. Moses was placed in the hands of Pharoah’s daughter to be taught by the best to stand against the best. With God’s leading the prossesed Moses was able to lead God’s people out of slavery and into the Promise Land.

What I’ve noticed is we all have gifts. We could be a Beyoncé or a Kim Walker. Both have gifts but one has been processed and humbled by God himself and the other well #nocomment! The process is beautiful! And the great thing is the Lord doesn’t take our gifts and store them away, NOOOOO he processes us, renews our mind, transforms us on the inside which is reflected on the outside. The gifts are returned to be used In Christ. This process can and will continue to happen only in Him. Please don’t think once you are operating in your calling that time with the Lord stops. Nooooo if you needed him before the process and during the process, you will certainly need Him after the process. In fact WE ARE STILL in the process as believers. Moses didn’t get to enter the Promise Land because the Lord had to still deal with him. Although Moses had been processed the transformation process was not complete. Perfection is the standard (Matt 5:48) so since we have not reached perfection common sense should tell us we better stay in the process. We should continue to put in intentional time with God so we can be ready when Jesus returns. We don’t want to be like the 5 foolish bridesmaids who weren’t prepared. We want complete access to the wedding and the feast, Don’t you? We want to hear, “Look the bride has made herself ready.” Rev 19:7.

The good thing about being in the process is it is quite simple, we should be seeking God and His Kingdom (Matt 6:33) and God himself will complete the good work he started in us. Phil 1:6. Hallelujah Jesus will complete the WORK!!! Yes I should be touching Christ and eating Him as my daily bread by reading His word, singing to Him, praying etc.. but this is so enjoyable. Even when the Lord shines His light on my icky, evil areas in myself, it’s good for me because it is perfecting me. It may hurt my feelings but it’s for my good. Constructive criticism is good isn’t it? How much more is it good for the Lord to shine His light on us so that we may be exposed of our icky parts so that we may depart from these things. THIS IS TRANSFORMATION. THIS IS THE PROCESS. And we should love it! We should enjoy it. Just enjoy God and the process. Enjoy that position He has placed you in. Enjoy that sucky job especially if the Lord has placed you there. Enjoy the place God has divinely placed you because He is totally preparing you for the position He is going to place you in. The best way to enjoy sucky situations is to BE IN CHRIST. It’s like being in paradise in a hellish situation. Being In Christ causes chaotic places to be calm, hellish places to be heaven, death to be life.

Position yourself in Christ while doing your work and spontaneously He will give you the desires of your heart. Spontaneously you will get that position, spontaneously you will end up exactly in the position the Lord promised you!

If you have never made the decision to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and want to, feel free to ask your local pastor or believer. Or you can PM me on social media.

The Depressed Christian By Sherry Thorpe

What happens when you feel like joy has completely ran out? What happens when it’s hard to crack a smile? A smile is on my face but joy definitely isn’t in my heart in fact I’m actually hurting tremendously.

First let me say that I do NOT fake it with God, ever. He isn’t some Work corporation that says check your feelings at the door before coming into work. God knows the depths of our heart and the best part about this is, He is also the healer of our hearts. So whatever I am feeling I bring it to God FIRST, he created me so I’m sure He knows what needs to be fixed so I include him. And sometimes we just need to check our feelings because they might be from the Devil like worrying for example. The Bible strictly tells us not to worry Matt 6:25-35.

I’M STILL DEPRESSED!

Okay let’s address a few things

Are you living in sin, making a lifestyle of sinning? Be honest before God because your Pastor or even your bestie may not know what you do or what’s going on behind close doors but God knows. I remember struggling with a particular sin and I found myself trying to rid myself of it but I felt trapped in it. Not only did I feel trapped but I also felt comfort, so in some actuallity I really didn’t want to rid myself of it. I was honest before the Lord and I told him, “Lord I like this sin, but I know it’s bad for me, I know you are not blessing this so please help. Please help me turn from this sin.” And the Lord was faithful to deliver me from that sin of course I had to cooperate with Him by not putting myself in that situation to commit that sin. Sin can absolutely take us straight to a depression state of mind hence one of the reason God tells to not sin and to confess our sins. Despite what the World and Devil tries to tell us SIN slowly and sometimes quickly destroys our inner and outer being. Confession should be part of our lifestyle because we aren’t perfect. Let me clarify that choosing to LIVE in sin and oops I sinned are 2 different things.

Living in sin– I know I am sinning and I am okay with this and I am not trying to turn from my sin. I’ve convinced myself that this sin is ok because guess what everybody sins. (These are dangerous EVIL thoughts) Salvation includes being saved from Sin. So if Jesus is our savior He most definitely did not die for and as our sin, for us to continue indulging in sins after He saved us.

Naturally Sinning- Just going about your day by walking in the Light and you sin realizing your mistake and you are aware of it and you don’t make a habit of it. Instead you can/will confess your sins. We are sinners by nature so yes the Lord is renewing us but we have not been COMPLETELY PERFECTED yet so failures aka slip ups aka sins will come but we must NOT become a FAILURE  and a good practice is to not put yourself in a situation to sin. If your sin is doughnuts then don’t go to doughnut shops. Remember if you fail, confession is good for the soul❤️

The Lord’s light is there to shine on our darken areas and guide us. You may have confessed that Jesus is Lord and have been baptized and this is awesome, now you have received eternal life and eternal salvation that saves you from everything that’s not God. The reason light is needed is to keep us on the right path but to also show us areas that need cleaning or a doing a way with. Pride is one of the sins we really don’t talk too much about but it can destroy us causing unnecessary heartache. “I’m feeling myself” is not cool in the eyes of the Lord. What happened to the realization of WHO AM I God that you are mindful of me? We must remain humble before God and others. If the Lord shines light in a certain area remember confession is good for the soul. Confess, turn away from it and carry on with your life In Christ.

I found myself in a state of depression! Nothing was going according to my plans (submit your plans to the Lord – a blog for another day). It didn’t seem like the Lord was for me. Despite what I did I would take 2 steps forward and I would be knocked down and dragged 10 steps backwards. I felt like I would have a taste of success and despite what I did it wouldn’t fully succeed. So my soul became sadden and I faked a smile. I put on that Church “I’m blessed” attitude even though I didn’t feel blessed. Since I didn’t feel blessed my time with the Lord decreased. And actually I had a job that limited my time with Church gatherings (praying about job schedules and careers is so important but that’s a blog for another day). I found myself in need of fresh air. I found myself in need of a revival. I knew I needed a huge revival in my life. Don’t worry about quiting the job, leaving the relationship, or dropping the addiction, simply ask the Lord to shine the light on those situations and to help guide you. It’s ok to repeat this prayer before the Lord until those situations are dealt with. He dealt with those things in my life as I would pray and spend time with Him and the depression left. I had to come back to the Lord. Quite frankly I didn’t know I left and maybe I didn’t leave Him completely but I definitely limited my time with Him. But the Lord led me back to Him and slowly but surely my depression left.

Another thing that I felt like caused my depression was a comparison of my life according to America’s standard. This is DANGEROUS. America demands and expects a lot from us. But what does Jesus our King of kings demands? It’s quite simple “seek first the the kingdom of God and it’s righteousness and THEN all these things will be added to you” Matt 6:33. Simply pray Lord show me how I can seek you in my daily life. Praying, singing to Jesus, talking to Jesus, simply saying Lord Jesus has brought me so much peace and joy instantly.

Conforming to this World (in my observations) causes depression. You may not be trying to keep up with the Kardashians but are you trying to keep up with the Americans? YOU my friend are not of this World, you are just in it. This is our temporary home❤️ Why store up treasures here when thieves can break in to steal it? Matt 6:19. The Bible in Romans 12:2 commands us “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect ” We must be renewed in our mind. The old mind aka old self is okay with the World’s low standards, okay with sinning, okay with pleasing people, okay with putting things before God, okay with having idols (FYI anything you put before God is an idol OUCH right?), okay with putting jobs/careers/people/school/knowledge of the Bible before God. Side noteDid you know that the Bible was not made for doctrine it was made so we could know God’s word and eat His words as our daily bread?

The Word aka Jesus is our daily bread. The Lord said we should pray this way:

IMG_2983

What’s being said in this prayer and how can we apply it in our daily life:

1. Thy will be done– His way, His will, He leads We follow! It’s His way or the highway honey!

2. Daily bread- Jesus is our bread, our daily nourishment, our supply to go on for the day, He is our life so don’t be surprised if you feel lifeless when you haven’t touched the life giver! Jesus is edible and you can eat Him in multiple ways by reading the Bible, saying Lord Jesus, writing/talking about/to Him, simply loving Him in whatever you do! THIS is taking Him in daily as our bread😌

3. Forgive us as we forgive- grudges are dangerous so just forgive and if you need help with forgiving others ask the Lord for help he is faithful to help you. Forgive yourself, yo we are jacked up and sometimes WE mess up, forgive yourself ITS OK! Ask others for forgiveness. Since we are not perfect, I’m sure along the way we might offend or hurt someone. So just seek forgiveness from them. Ask God for forgiveness, the Lord is just to forgive us 1 John 1:9. The Bible says, “as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” Psalm 103:13 and He will forget our wickedness THIS IS PRETTY COOL “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” Hebrew 8:12

4. Lead us.. deliver us.. – Lead us not into temptation. Asking the Lord to lead you into a place that is not tempting um that’s great leadership Jesus❤️ But deliver us from EVIL. Just deliver us from any and all evil. Uh yeah I’ll take that! Deliver me from my unnatural love for “doughnuts”

The Lord Himself taught us that prayer so wouldn’t He be faithful to fulfill it as our God? This is part of believing into Him. Believing that He is capable to do the very things that He did in the Bible. And if He doesn’t do the things in the Bible we should be completely satisfied and okay with His decisions! (Depending on the situation sometimes mentioning it a couple of times is ok- Let the Lord lead you in this)

Lord bless me with me with a new car? Didn’t get it? Be ok with this saying Amen Lord.

Lord bless me with a spouse? Didn’t get it? Be ok with this saying Amen Lord.

It’s ok to be hopeful but I have made the decision to practice being satisfied with Jesus alone. This helps me to not be .. well depressed! The Lord is my Shepard I shall not want… Because when I’m in want and do not get it I’m either sad or mad.

Rest– I mean c’mon even God himself rested on the 7th day after creating the World. So if God rested I’m sure He intends on us taking a rest. Just chill. Sit down and rest. Be calm and rest.

Disclaimer: If you take MEDS for depression or an illness this post is not to say don’t take your MEDS. I am not a Doctor however I would strongly encourage you to ask the Lord and the Elderly believers about anything you inject into your body!

Take away: Simply taking the Lord as your daily bread and Life is the CURE for everything. ❤️🙌🏾😍

Have you accepted the cure as your Savior?

The ultimate end to slavery! By Sherry Thorpe

IMG_2976

Today is Juneteenth. Juneteenth is a holiday celebrated in the USA mainly by African Americans. Juneteenth is the celebration of freedom amongst last remaining enslaved persons in the United States on June 19, 1965.

To explain this in a short way: Slavery had ended a couple of years before the news had  reached the slaves in Texas and some other states in the south. The Texas slaves were still being enslaved by their masters although they were legally free. So troops were sent to address the issue and announced the slaves freedom on June 19, 1965! Happy Juneteenth❤️

“General Order No. 3”

The people of Texas are informed that, in accordance with a proclamation from the Executive of the United States, all slaves are free. This involves an absolute equality of personal rights and rights of property between former masters and slaves, and the connection heretofore existing between them becomes that between employer and hired labor. The freedmen are advised to remain quietly at their present homes and work for wages. They are informed that they will not be allowed to collect at military posts and that they will not be supported in idleness either there or elsewhere.

That’s crazy to be free and not know that you were free. To be enslaved working for a master who is technically not your master. To endure hundreds of years of slavery and be free and not know it. You know what you do when you are legally free and you don’t know it? You remain enslaved because how would you know unless a messenger was sent to tell you? To tell you that look you guys YOU ARE NO LONGER SLAVES. You are free! The hope of freedom is no longer some far away desire it’s now reality and YOU ARE FREE. What does freedom look like? What does that even mean, I’ve been a slave most if not all of my life. I’ve hoped to be free but now that it is here what does it actually mean. Well for one it means that you get paid wages for your work. You are no longer bound to fully obey “the masters” command being that even your masters have been stripped of the title “slave master.” You are simply free.

I can not imagine the thoughts fully, the joy that was experienced by the newly freed slaves on that day. What beautiful experience to know that you are no longer enslaved but indeed you are free.

Because I am a Christian and this paints the picture of being enslaved by Satan in this World, I feel compelled to say unless YOU are in Christ you are in the condition of being a slave. You are enslaved just like I was enslaved by Satan until someone told me Jesus was sent to this Earth to free all of humanity. Jesus was sent to rescue us from the Devils hand and I am His messenger. I am an unashamed messenger of the gospel of Christ that has the power to FREE YOU in Christ. Oh Sherry I don’t know what you are talking about I’m not a slave lol look at my life I’m truly free.

Harriet Tubman has this famous quote that I believe relates to what Jesus could say today when His believer share the gospel and are turned Dow by the hearers (pic below)

img_2975.png

She could’ve freed a thousand more…

Side note: Harriet carried a gun to threaten any one that wanted to give up and turn around being that it could’ve endangered the other ones if a person chose to return to slavery. WOW

We may all know that even though the newly freed slaves were freed they faced much difficulty for many years to come. We too as Christians will have trials and tribulations as Jesus advised but he also said to take heart for He has overcome the World” John 16:33 Why would Jesus need to overcome the World? If the World (as it is sometimes portrayed) is this beautiful wonderful place why did Jesus need to overcome it? Could it be that that this World enslaves those that are not in Christ and sometimes those that are in Christ are still enslaved and bound because of our lack of knowledge and power (I know this has been my experience) Why did Jesus say, “And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?” Matt 16:26 Why would that be the exchange – The World for my soul? Why wouldn’t we be able to have both. I am not sure but I know personally I’ve experienced this World enslave me with worrying, pursuing worthless materials things, being bound to lustful and shameful things. In the past being suicidal I know for sure that bound by the cares of this World that the only way I thought I could escape was through death. In a way I was Right – death was the answer but not a physical killing my body by death but a death through Jesus Christ. A death to my former life that I lived without Christ and being resurrected receiving eternal life in Christ. It was this new life that freed me and it’s freeing me totally. This is true freedom. To be saved is to be free! We don’t have to be slaves to this World or Satan. The Bible says:

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36

ARE YOU FREE?!

Belize, In the Spirit, Travel

Morning Devo- Perfect paradise By Sherry Thorpe

IMG_2501

I have been blessed with the opportunity to travel to some pretty amazing places and I’ve made the decision that My favorite created place to visit so far is Belize.

Belize is a country located in Central America and oh yea, it’s an English speaking country. The people are influenced by the carribean and Britain. Feel free to browse my other blogs about Belize. You Betta Belize it!

I love Belize because it’s so natural and authentic country! The food is fresh and the People aren’t trying to impress you with the things they own or the things that they posses that hides their true face. Those people are genuine, down to Earth, and super duper authentic. They seemed to be calmer, more relaxed, less stressed than people I usually meet in the USA. These people were transparent in their speaking and their actions. Silence only occurred when you took time to think or enjoy your surroundings. There’s so much Natural beauty around that it’s hard to ever forget the creator. I’m so surrounded by man made things here in the US that if I look away and get distracted I think more about the man/woman that created the thing rather than the Creator Himself.

Thats the created place on Earth that I love the most! However the best place that I have discovered  is in Christ. To me this is a physical place where I feel protected, all of my shame and failures are addressed and gone. All of my pain is comforted away. The Perfect One who knows me in and out, how I operate, and  what I need lives in Me. I have the opportunity every morning and throughout the day to choose to be in Him, In His presence, and conversing with Him. Jesus is my paradise on Earth.

I have tasted Jesus and I’ve felt alive so I can confess that He is the bread of Life and He is good for food like His word proclaims in John 6:35. I have tasted this Bread of Life and I can confirm that He is good. Since I’ve tasted and seen that God is good the choice that I have to make is do I want to be with Him forever. Does my living reflect this choice? Does my daily decisions reflect where I want to go?

It’s ok to fall, but it’s not ok to stay down. The Lord Himself will come and get us when we fall because He is the faithful Shepard but it’s our choice to get back up again. It’s ok to be in the process of being perfected and it’s ok for us nkt to practically perfect that’s what forgiveness and mercy is for. The Lord is merciful but His mercy is not to be abused or misused. Paul warns us in Romans 6:1-2 “What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?” Romans 8:37 We are to be more than conquerors through Christ who strengthens us to get back up and endure In Christ to the end. To the Lord returns to us. Failure will come because we still have our fallen flesh but we are to “submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7 We want to resist the Devil in order to be In paradise experiencing our wonderful Christ as Life. We have to remember that Christ is better than anything that this World has to offer us. He is our perfect place to travel to In the Spirit our very own Universe to travel to. It’s our escape zone, our safety net, our secret place, our healing factory, our renewing zone, and our transformation place.

So what should we do to remain IN CHRIST? Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness… Matt 6:33 (this is not to seek first “The American Dream” And guess what? When we seek Him first He ALONE gives us the desires of our heart. Psalm 37:4 Take delight in Him first and YOU WANT BE DISAPPOINTED. You can delight yourself In Him anywhere at work, at school, in the restroom, in the kitchen, at home, at a friend’s house etc.. The Lord has given us total access to Him wherever we are we can say Lord Jesus and enter into this Beautiful paradise!

Have you experienced the perfect paradise?

If you have never made the decision to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and want to, feel free to ask your local pastor or believer. Or you can PM me on social media.
